Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Focus Un, LTD, doing business as Focus Un Training (“Focus Un,” “we,” “us”), collects when you use focusuntraining.com, the portal at app.focusuntraining.com, and the Focus Un iPhone and Apple Watch apps (together, the “Service”), how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have. Focus Un is offered in the United States only.
The short version: we collect what we need to coach you and run the Service. We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
1. What we collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Name, email, sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email and password), and your role (client, coach, team leader). | You, Apple, Google |
| Age | Your date of birth, asked once when you create an account. For users aged 16 or 17 we keep the date you turn 18, so guardian rules apply. If you are under 16, no account is created and nothing identifying is kept. | You |
| Intake | Who you train for (for example military or law enforcement), experience, goals, sports, schedule, equipment, and how you heard about us. | You |
| Body and health | Date of birth, sex, height and weight. In the app, injuries and medical conditions only if you give separate consent to share them. | You |
| Guardian | For users aged 16 or 17: a parent or guardian’s name and the time they consented. | You |
| Training | Programs, workouts, sets, loads, effort ratings, run and ruck distance and time (not your route), difficulty ratings, pain flags and body areas, personal records, goals and habits. | You |
| Check-ins | Bodyweight, sleep, energy, stress, adherence, measurements, pain or injury notes, and schedule changes. | You |
| Photos and voice notes | Progress and check-in photos (location data is removed on your device before upload) and voice notes. | You |
| Messages | Text and voice messages between you and your coach. | You, your coach |
| Apple Health | Steps and active and resting energy, read only, if you allow it. | Apple Health |
| Nutrition | Calorie and macro targets, foods, recipes and supplements you log, meal plans, and nutrition plan answers (eating pattern, allergens, exclusions). | You, your coach, Apple Health |
| Calls | Calls you book with a coach: type, time, and any note you add. | You |
| Website forms | What you type into the consultation request, client intake or nutrition intake on this website. Depending on the form: name, email, phone, date of birth or age, sex, height, weight, training history and strength numbers, goals, schedule, sleep, stress, diet, food preferences and allergies, grocery budget, and health information you choose to give (conditions, injuries, medications, pregnancy or nursing, and history with food). | You |
| Purchases | What you have bought and your subscription or order status. For web purchases: the plan or product, price, the terms shown to you and when you accepted them, and your Stripe customer ID. Focus Journal orders: the order details Lulu shares with us. Card details go directly to Stripe, Apple or Lulu and never reach us. | You, Stripe, Apple, RevenueCat, Lulu |
| Device | Push notification token and app version. | Your device |
| Consent records | What you agreed to, which version, and when, including withdrawals. | You |
| Copyright notices | Name, email, postal address, optional phone, signature and the notice, from anyone who sends one. | The sender |
When you visit, our hosts record standard request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested) for security and to deliver the page. We do not use analytics, advertising identifiers, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, session replay or crash-reporting tools.
2. Cookies and similar storage
- By default, this website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies. Our fonts and images are served from our own site.
- The first time you visit, a banner asks whether to allow our checkout partners. Your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again. That is the only thing we store, and it never leaves your device.
- Only if you click Accept, the checkout scripts of Stripe (on the Training page) and Lulu (on the Focus Journal page) load. They set their own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud. If you decline, you can still use the rest of the site; the buy buttons ask you to accept before checkout opens.
- Change your choice any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page.
- The portal at app.focusuntraining.com uses one cookie to keep you signed in, which is strictly necessary. Its copyright notice page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots.
- Links to Instagram, TikTok and Amazon are plain links. Those sites set their own cookies only after you click through to them.
3. How we use it
- To provide training, coaching, messaging, check-ins, calls, progress tracking and nutrition features, and to personalize programs from your intake.
- To answer consultation requests and build the plans you ask for from the website forms.
- To send notifications you have turned on. Each type has its own toggle, and you can set quiet hours.
- To send account, security, order and billing emails (sign-in links, password resets, receipts, subscription confirmations and renewal reminders). These are sent whatever your marketing choice.
- To send marketing email, only if you opt in. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribed addresses are kept on a suppression list so they are never emailed again, even after you delete your account; we keep only the address.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, back up data, and meet legal obligations.
- Product analytics in the app only if you opt in (Account → Privacy and your data). It is off by default and never includes health data, photos, food logs, birth dates or intake answers.
Apple Health data is used only to provide features to you (such as calorie and step targets). It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with analytics or marketing providers.
4. Who can see your information
- You.
- Your coach, if you are a coached client: your profile, intake (including injuries and medical conditions if you consented), training, check-ins, messages, nutrition, and progress photos. You can turn off photo sharing with your coach at any time. A coach’s access ends when they are no longer assigned to you. Website form answers go to Focus Un’s coaches so they can respond.
- Team leaders, if you join a team or department plan: without your consent, a leader sees only your name, that you are on the team, and how many sessions you have done. If you choose to share, they also see your workouts, personal records, fitness test results, body metrics and goals, never your messages, check-ins, photos, nutrition, or intake and health answers. You can stop sharing at any time; it takes effect immediately.
- Focus Un owners and administrators, for operations, support and safety. Every time a coach, owner or team leader opens a client’s records in the app or portal, it is logged.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract and only to run the Service: GoDaddy (website hosting), Formspree (delivers website form answers to us by email), Supabase (database and sign-in), Cloudflare (media and backup storage; a bot check on the copyright form), Netlify (portal hosting), Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notifications, in-app purchases; HealthKit stays on your device), Google (sign-in; calendar invites and Meet links when you book a call with a coach who uses Google Calendar), Stripe (payments and tax), RevenueCat (purchase status across the app and web), Resend (transactional email), GitHub (encrypted backup jobs), and USDA FoodData Central, the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database and Open Food Facts (food and barcode searches are sent from our servers without your identity). If we add a provider that receives personal information, we will update this list.
- Lulu prints, sells and ships the Focus Journal. When you order it, Lulu collects your payment and shipping details under its own privacy policy.
- Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, Focus Un earns from qualifying purchases made through the book links on the Mindset page. Amazon tells us only which products earned a commission, never who bought them.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena or court order, or when needed to protect someone’s safety or our rights.
- Business transfers. If Focus Un is merged, acquired or sells its assets, your information may transfer, subject to this policy.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Your choices and rights
- Download your data: Account → Privacy and your data → Download, in the portal.
- Delete your account: Account → Delete account, in the app or the portal. Your records are deleted immediately; photos and voice notes are removed from storage within about an hour; copies in backups expire within 35 days.
- Website form answers: email focus.unltd@focusuntraining.com to see, correct or delete what you sent us.
- Withdraw health-data consent: Account → Privacy and your data. This removes injuries and medical conditions from your intake.
- Marketing email, analytics and notifications: change them any time in Account.
- Cookies on this website: Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page.
- Apple Health: change access in the Health app or iPhone Settings.
Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Washington or Nevada), you may have the right to know what we collect, to access, correct, delete or get a copy of it, to opt out of sale, targeted advertising or profiling (we do none of these), and to limit use of sensitive information. Washington and Nevada residents also have rights over consumer health data, which we collect and use only to provide the Service to you and share only as described above. To use any right, email focus.unltd@focusuntraining.com. We will verify your request using your email address, respond within the time the law requires (usually 45 days), and never treat you differently for using your rights. You may use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and if you are not satisfied, contact your state attorney general.
6. How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is active.
- Inactive accounts: after 12 months without activity we email you, then archive your history in encrypted storage. Archived history is deleted after a further 12 months unless you come back.
- Deleted accounts: removed from the live database immediately; backups expire within 35 days.
- Website form answers: while we are working with you; if you don’t become a client, deleted within 12 months of your last message.
- Purchase, checkout acceptance and deletion records: 7 years, for tax, accounting and dispute purposes.
- Notification history: 90 days.
- Email suppression list: the address only, kept so we never email it again.
7. Children and teens
Focus Un is for people 16 and older. If you are under 16, please don’t send us information through the website, and no app account is created for you (or a new Apple or Google sign-in is deleted immediately). Users aged 16 or 17 need a parent or guardian’s consent. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 16, we delete it. Parents can contact us at the email below.
8. Security
We protect your information with access rules enforced in our database for every role, encryption in transit, private media storage with short-lived links, and logged access to client records. Website forms are sent over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
9. Changes
If we make material changes, we will tell you on this page and in the app and portal, and ask app and portal users to accept the new version before they continue. The effective date at the top shows when this policy last changed. Our Terms of Service also apply to your use of the Service.
